Some new paintings

Hi everyone! Hope you’re all well. Personally, I got the flu so I could stay way better but I won’t complain! During winter vacations I’ve neglected the site mainly because where I usually go there’s no internet connection and so I have to rely heavily on my phone, which is why I couldn’t upload new paintings for a while.

But now I’m back! And I’ve brought a whole lot of new works with me. This one won’t be the usual post centered on one painting only. Instead I will batch all of them in one post.

I’m personally very happy with the look of some of them and I’d really love to hear a word from you! Which one do you prefer? I’ve chosen Majestic Universe to represent the post because it has received very good praising on social media, but I hope you’ll like the others as well.

Till next time!

My new painting. Again, I’ve been experimenting with the mixer brush presets made by Eldar Zakirov. The more I use them the more I like the amazing traditional oil painting effect they give! Give it a try if you are into digital painting, you won’t be disappointed.

I made this painting using mainly the mixer brush and the mixer brush sets I bought from Eldar Zakirov on Cubebrush. It’s an amazing set, the perfect one to create that amazing feeling of traditional oil painting. This is my first attempt using them and I can say that I’m still far from using them properly, but I already like the result. In time I hope to get better.

If you’re into digital painting or 3D sculpting take a look to Cubebrush website and browse its amazing content, you won’t be disappointed.

As usual if you want to look at the details, check the full size image in the Landscapes page! Thank you all!

To Battle!

My new work! I did another female character. Lately I’ve been doing a lot of character design. I’m trying to get better in adding details while keeping things as painterly as possibile. I always paint trying to avoid the “digital effect”. Of course there are many great artists out there who can do amazing stuff still looking digital, but personally I love traditional oil painting and I try to convey the same feeling in my digital paintings. I’ve still a long road ahead, though!

You can find a full resolution copy of this image in che Characters page, just follow the link. Thank you all!

Underwater Majesty

I’ve always been fascinated by mermaids. This time I wanted to realize one slightly different from the usual fish-tailed mermaid. If you have questions about how I realize my paintings don’t hesitate to ask!

You can find a bigger resolution image in the Characters page, as usual!

Thank you all!

The Monolith

The Monolith

It’s been a while since I last made a landscape and it was high time I did it. I love to depict lone travellers in huge sceneries, like this one. In this world some ancient civilization managed to harness the power of a whole planet connecting it to a giant monolith. I love the surreal effect it gives. Hope you like it too.

Stormbringers

A flock of Harpies. In Greek and Roman mythology they were thought to bring storms and punish evil men. Of course they were supposed to be a lot uglier than this but I took some liberties and made them a little prettier. This illustration is available for printing, if you want to take a closer look go to the Characters page!

Chief

I started this painting with the idea of making an ogre warrior. During the process I changed my mind and ended doing something like a sort of mythological satyr-like beast. This is the result. Let me know what you think!

Darkspawn

It seems I’ve been painting a lot of characters, lately. When I paint this kind of hybrid female characters I love to mix different features such as horns, scales, claws and feathers with human traits, combining sheer, natural power with the delicate beauty of female bodies.

This time I made a Tiefling, or a half-demon if you’re not into roleplaying games, a being born from the unholy union of a demon and a human. They are not necessary evil in nature, but their demonic traits usually get them to be fiercely discriminated. As a result they don’t trust anybody and learn very quickly to rely exclusively on themselves.

As usual I tried to stay as painterly as possible, to achieve a more organic result.

Let me know what do you think! And if you have a favourite character you would like me to paint you can suggest it in the comments below!

Scorpio Duelist

This is my new work, Scorpio Duelist. This was one of the main characters of a novel I wrote when I was a high school student. It was meant to be male, to be honest, but I decided to change it and I must say I like this female version. I tried many times to draw or paint this particular character over the years, but I was never satisfied of the result. Now I finally made a version I like and I can rest easy. For now, at least!

Well, if you want to let me know what do you think of it, feel free to drop a couple lines in the comments below. Have a great day wherever you are!
