Blades of Mor Rioghain

This is one of my latest works: Blades of Mor Rioghain, inspired by Celtic myths and lore. Hope you like it! You can find a bigger version in the character gallery.

This is my Spider Witch, a character I realized for the Horror Contest in the Digital Artist Group, on Facebook. It’s not so horrible if you’re not arachnophobic, but I hope you like it!

Some new paintings

Hi everyone! Hope you’re all well. Personally, I got the flu so I could stay way better but I won’t complain! During winter vacations I’ve neglected the site mainly because where I usually go there’s no internet connection and so I have to rely heavily on my phone, which is why I couldn’t upload new paintings for a while.

But now I’m back! And I’ve brought a whole lot of new works with me. This one won’t be the usual post centered on one painting only. Instead I will batch all of them in one post.

I’m personally very happy with the look of some of them and I’d really love to hear a word from you! Which one do you prefer? I’ve chosen Majestic Universe to represent the post because it has received very good praising on social media, but I hope you’ll like the others as well.

Till next time!

In this landscape I used a very desaturated palette to reinforce a cold atmosphere. As always the full resolution image is available here.

My new painting. Again, I’ve been experimenting with the mixer brush presets made by Eldar Zakirov. The more I use them the more I like the amazing traditional oil painting effect they give! Give it a try if you are into digital painting, you won’t be disappointed.

I made this painting using mainly the mixer brush and the mixer brush sets I bought from Eldar Zakirov on Cubebrush. It’s an amazing set, the perfect one to create that amazing feeling of traditional oil painting. This is my first attempt using them and I can say that I’m still far from using them properly, but I already like the result. In time I hope to get better.

If you’re into digital painting or 3D sculpting take a look to Cubebrush website and browse its amazing content, you won’t be disappointed.

As usual if you want to look at the details, check the full size image in the Landscapes page! Thank you all!

My new work! I did another female character. Lately I’ve been doing a lot of character design. I’m trying to get better in adding details while keeping things as painterly as possibile. I always paint trying to avoid the “digital effect”. Of course there are many great artists out there who can do amazing stuff still looking digital, but personally I love traditional oil painting and I try to convey the same feeling in my digital paintings. I’ve still a long road ahead, though!

Underwater Majesty

I’ve always been fascinated by mermaids. This time I wanted to realize one slightly different from the usual fish-tailed mermaid. If you have questions about how I realize my paintings don’t hesitate to ask!

You can find a bigger resolution image in the Characters page, as usual!

Thank you all!

The Monolith

The Monolith

It’s been a while since I last made a landscape and it was high time I did it. I love to depict lone travellers in huge sceneries, like this one. In this world some ancient civilization managed to harness the power of a whole planet connecting it to a giant monolith. I love the surreal effect it gives. Hope you like it too.

Stormbringers

121118_Flight of the Harpy_3_MD

A flock of Harpies. In Greek and Roman mythology they were thought to bring storms and punish evil men. Of course they were supposed to be a lot uglier than this but I took some liberties and made them a little prettier. This illustration is available for printing, if you want to take a closer look go to the Characters page!
